MeT Predicts light rains, snowfall in Kashmir on Monday

The Meteorological Office in Kashmir on Sunday predicted light to moderate snowfall over higher reaches and some places in plains in Jammu and Kashmir.

Taking to a micro blogging Site, MeT Official said, “Weather is likely to turn cloudy as the day progresses today. From tonight (November 13) – November 15th, the weather is expected to be generally cloudy.

“Light to moderate rain/snow is expected over higher reaches at most places. Some places in the plains may receive 1-2 inches of snow on November 14”, he said.

From November 15-18, he said, weather would be cloudy and from November 19-20𝙩𝙝, there is possibility of widespread light to moderate rain /snow. “The forecast confidence is upto 75%”, he said.

Among probable impacts, he said, snowfall and low temperature may lead to temporary disruption of surface transportation, mainly over Zojila, Sadnatop, Mughal road etc on November 14 and 19-20th.

“Prior to embarking on a journey, people are advised to check the status of the road from traffic police,” official added.
