The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecasted isolated to widespread light to moderate rain and snow over Jammu and Kashmir during the next 48 hours, officials said on Sunday.

According to the MeT department, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy on Sunday, with isolated light rain and snow in some areas. However, a more widespread light to moderate rain and snowfall is likely at most places on March 3, particularly in elevated regions.

Following this spell, the weather is predicted to remain dry from March 4 to March 9, providing relief from the wet conditions. However, another round of rain and snow is expected between March 10 and March 12, the Met office stated.

In light of the forecast, authorities have issued an advisory urging tourists, travelers, and transporters to adhere to administrative and traffic guidelines. Additionally, farmers have been advised to suspend irrigation and other agricultural activities until March 4.

Residents and visitors are advised to stay updated with official weather and traffic advisories to avoid any inconvenience.
