Militant killed in gunfight in Srinagar’s Harwan : police

An unidentified militant was killed in a gunfight with security forces in Harwan area of Srinagar on Sunday.

“SrinagarEncounterUpdate: 01 unidentified #millitant killed. Search going on. Further details shall follow, ” a police spokesman said.

Quoting sources, news agency reported that the slain militant was affiliated with the LeT outfit and “seems to be a foreigner”.

The encounter broke out in the early hours today after security forces cordoned the area following a tip off about the presence of the militant there.
