Srinagar, May 15: The Juvenile Justice Board Srinagar has granted bail to a minor boy (Juvenile in Conflict with Law) in connection with an FIR registered under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, pertaining to the alleged kidnapping of a girl.

Subsequent to the registration of the FIR, the juvenile had been lodged at the Harwan Observation Home in accordance with the applicable legal procedure. During the course of the bail proceedings, defence counsel Advocate Qazi Mohammad Athar advanced detailed and persuasive submissions before the Board seeking the release of the minor on bail. The defence also contended the young age of the juvenile, highlighted his clean antecedents, and challenged the police version of events.

Upon consideration of the arguments presented and the material placed on record, the Board was pleased to allow the bail application and directed that the juvenile be released from the observation home and handed over to the custody of his father, subject to the standard terms and conditions governing such release.

The order provides substantial relief to the juvenile and his family.
