Srinagar 5 July Kashmir Pen : Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr. Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq addressed the congregation at the historic central Jama Masjid in Srinagar on the farewell Friday of the Hijri year. He urged the Muslims of Kashmir to engage in self-reflection, considering whether their actions displeasing to Allah might be the cause of the severe trials they are facing.

During his address, Mirwaiz noted the severe hardships and trials endured by the people over the past year, highlighting the current suffering due to intense heat and lack of rainfall, which has caused various difficulties and problems. He offered heartfelt prayers for rain and criticized the J&K administration for its negligence regarding the erratic power supply during the hot weather.

Mirwaiz pointed out that the public faced many issues during the winter months due to severe power shortages, and now, with the intense heat, the government appears indifferent to its responsibilities in ensuring the supply of essential services like water and electricity, despite a hike in tariff.

With the month of Muharram approaching, Mirwaiz emphasized that it is the administration’s responsibility to ensure the provision of electricity, water, and other essential items to the people. Kashmir Pen
