Srinagar, April 11 : Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir, Dr. Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq on Saturday visited the fire-affected Madrasa Ashraf-ul-Uloom at Hyderpora, Srinagar, where a blaze broke out, causing major damage to two floors of the madrasa and parts of the adjoining mosque.

Expressing concern over the loss, Mirwaiz termed the incident unfortunate. He, however, expressed relief and gratitude to Almighty Allah that no student or staff member was harmed.

“We are thankful to Allah that all students are safe,” he said.

Mirwaiz conveyed his solidarity with the management and locals, and urged the authorities and the community to extend support for the early restoration of the madrasa. He also appealed to people to pray and come forward with assistance so that the institution is rebuilt at the earliest. (KNS)
