Banihal, May 13:Continuing his commitment towards strengthening educational infrastructure and ensuring inclusive development across the Banihal-Gool Constituency, Sajjad Shaheen today laid the foundation stone for the construction of an additional school building at High School Kaskoot, being constructed at an estimated cost of ₹78.41 lakh.

The ceremony was attended by ZEO Khari, Principal HSS Banihal, Executive Engineer R&B, officers from various departments, local representatives, teachers, students, and a large gathering of people from the area.

On the occasion, the MLA also announced a water cooler, an AI-backed digital interactive panel, and 100 desks for the school to further improve the learning environment and provide better facilities to students.

Addressing the gathering, Sajjad Shaheen said that education remains one of the top priorities of his developmental vision and that every possible effort is being made to improve infrastructure and educational standards in schools situated in remote and hilly areas.

He said that the demand for an additional school building had been raised by the students and staff during his last visit to the school in October last year. Responding positively to the genuine concerns of the school administration and students, the project was subsequently taken up and approved.

The MLA stated that the construction of the new building will help address space constraints and provide a better academic atmosphere for students. He added that modern educational tools and facilities are essential for empowering the younger generation and preparing them for future challenges.

Highlighting the ongoing developmental works in Banihal-Gool Constituency, the MLA said that several major projects related to roads, bridges, healthcare, drinking water, education, and rural infrastructure are presently being executed across the constituency.

He reiterated that balanced and equitable development of all areas remains his foremost commitment.

He further said that important initiatives including modernization and upgradation of schools, construction of bridges on vital roads, strengthening of healthcare institutions, establishment of dialysis facilities, and improvement in public infrastructure are transforming the developmental landscape of the constituency.

Sajjad Shaheen also expressed gratitude to the Government led by Omar Abdullah for extending support towards developmental projects in the constituency and said that many more welfare initiatives are in the pipeline for the benefit of the people.

Locals, teachers, and students appreciated the MLA for his prompt response to the long-pending demand of the school and for his continued outreach and developmental focus in far-flung areas.

The MLA assured the people that he will continue working tirelessly to fulfill public aspirations and ensure holistic and sustainable development across the Banihal-Gool Constituency.
