Srinagar, Apr 22: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecast largely stable weather conditions across Jammu and Kashmir over the coming days, with no major weather activity expected till the end of April, except for brief spells of rain and thundershowers at intervals.

According to the latest forecast, the region will witness generally dry weather on April 22 and 23, although a brief spell of light rain may occur at a few places towards late afternoon. This aligns with recent MeT observations indicating mostly dry conditions in J&K till April 23, with only isolated light rain activity.

A change in weather is expected on April 24 and 25, when the skies are likely to remain partly to generally cloudy, accompanied by one or two spells of light rain or thundershowers at scattered to many places. Gusty winds are also expected at a few locations, particularly during late afternoon and evening hours.

On April 26, weather conditions are likely to remain largely dry, though brief spells of light rain may occur at isolated places during the afternoon. Dry weather is expected to prevail again on April 27 and 28.

Towards the end of the month, April 29 and 30 are likely to see generally cloudy conditions, with brief spells of light rain or thundershowers at a few places, mainly during late afternoon hours. Similar weather is expected to continue into early May, with intermittent cloud cover and light rain activity.

The MeT department has also issued an advisory for farmers, urging them to continue agricultural operations till April 23 in view of the prevailing dry weather. Additionally, a rise in day temperatures by 2–4°C has been forecast at many places during this period.

Overall, the weather pattern indicates a mix of dry spells and short-duration rain activity, typical of the spring season in Kashmir, when temperatures remain moderate and conditions fluctuate between clear and cloudy skies.
