Srinagar, Jan 24 : The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, Vidhi Kumar Birdi said multi-layered security arrangements involving the Jammu and Kashmir Police and central paramilitary forces have been put in place across the Valley for Republic Day, while issuing an “open invitation” for people to join the celebrations.

(IGP) Kashmir, speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the full-dress rehearsal at Bakshi Stadium here, outlined the security deployment.

“For the main venue at Bakshi Stadium, Jammu and Kashmir Police, its security wing, and central paramilitary forces are jointly handling all security arrangements,” the IGP said as per new agency Kashmir News Service (KNS).

He said similar stringent arrangements have been implemented across all districts of Kashmir, where separate events will be held with respective chief guests taking the salute.
