As a concrete step towards realising the vision of providing better platforms to the women and children of the area and in continuation to the various goodwill initiatives being carried out by Army in Sopore, WORKSHOPS ON ART AND WOMEN EMPOWERMENT were organised at Army Goodwill School, Mazbug, Shah-I-Hamdan Centre for Education and Watlab Youth Centre by Sopore and Paribal Rashtriya Rifles respectively in collaboration with (ROUBLE NAGI ART FOUNDATION). The workshops were steered by Ms Rouble Nagi, a well known artist and alumni of Slade School of Fine Arts, London (UK), to provide an opportunity for children to learn creative art from experts and ignite a positive passion towards art in their hearts and minds.

The women empowerment lectures were aimed at creating awareness with respect to existing potential and scope for training. The art workshop and interactive sessions were attended by 60 children and 122 girls from Sopore Town, Watlab village and nearby areas. The interaction drew in a lot of enthusiastic participation and questions from the participants. A sense of positivism and desire to do something positive was evident in the attendees
