Telugu actress Mumait Khan lodged a complaint with police against cab driver R Raju for “false allegations” levelled against her on social media saying that she had not paid him for using his services during a trip to Goa. On September 29, 2020, cab driver R Raju took to social media accusing Mumait Khan of not paying bills worth 15,000 for toll gate charges and driver’s allowance when she opted for his services on a trip to Goa.
When Mumait came to know about these allegations through social media, she decided to lodge a complaint against him at the Punjagutta Police Station. According to her, these allegations by Raju are false and defamatory in nature. The SHO at the Punjagutta Police Station, M Niranjan Reddy said, “Yes, Mumait Khan came to Punjagutta Police Station to raise a complaint against a cab driver named Raju who has allegedly defamed her on social media. He apparently put up a post claiming that he drove the actress to Goa & she had not paid his bills.
Mumait however has denied his claim, stating that she has paid the bills and has asked us to take action against him. We will investigate the matter further and decide on the course of action that needs to be taken.” His allegations had gone viral and the actress told police that she had never owned any amount to the driver.
