Muzaffar Shah smells foul: Accuses right wingers of stealing key Kashmir file

Srinagar, Aug 21 : Days after a key Kashmir file justifying the insertion of Article 35A into the Constitution has gone missing from the high security vaults of North Block in New Delhi, the grandson of late Prime Minister of Jammu and Kashmir late Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah Monday said that the copy of the same file is lying with the State Government and if need arises, the Mehbooba Mufti led Government can produce that file in the Supreme Court of India.

Muzaffar Ahmed Shah while addressing a press conference here in Srinagar city under the banner of Coordination Committee alleged that the file has been stolen by those who follow righter winger ideology. “It is an abject shame that a key file goes missing and the Government of India is silent on this issue. It is the responsibility of the Government of India to initiate a probe and identify the culprits responsible for the theft,” he said.

The key file has gone missing at a time when the Supreme Court is hearing a petition by an RSS-backed lesser known NGO ‘We the Citizens’ seeking the abrogation of the Article 35A, which bars outsiders from acquiring land or jobs in Jammu and Kashmir.

“How can a 63 years old file go missing and that too from high-security vaults of North Block? This is a conspiracy and speaks volumes about the role and influence of those fanatics who want to illegally integrate Jammu and Kashmir with rest of India,” Shah told news agency CNS on the sidelines of the press conference and demanded a thorough inquiry into the incident.

“The burglars actually don’t know the copy of the same file is lying with the Government of Jammu and Kashmir. Now it is the responsibility of the State Government to produce that file in the Supreme Court,” Shah said.
