BY SYED TAQVA SHAH

For me Covid 19 started on 27th of December, 2020. When I heard the news of ‘Positive’ cases hit the stands. A roar disturbed my family and I found myself caged with tag ‘quarantine’. As time passed in isolation, other things followed. I felt totally cut off from the rest of the world. But a hope of being tested again to get it ‘Negative’ encouraged me to wait happily. During my stay in isolation, I was forced to obey the harsh rules and | felt like an untouchable. I avoided touching anything and things before me lost meaning and values. The kitchen setting, the tradition and the culture of eating together seemed a fairy tale. All utensils were replaced by disposal items. The quarantine life was like living in a graveyard wherein, you are left all alone at the mercy of the Lord. Though, my family was there to support, but it was just like another responsibility, non-obligatory, devoid of ‘inclusiveness’ and rightly so because everyone values his/her life. Although, my friends were in touch with me, but virtual unnecessarily turned to be the only option to live and believe that one is living.
