Jammu, Sep 21: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today inaugurated the National Seminar on Millets Mission aimed at building a healthy ecosystem and sustainable food systems in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing the seminar, the LG said that guided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Shree Anna, J&K is nurturing climate-resilient agriculture, empowering small farmers and women entrepreneurs, and restoring heritage of nutritious food.
“Millets are not merely crops but they are instruments of health, sustainability, and self-reliance. Let us together ensure that every plate carries nourishment and every village carries hope,” the LG said.
The seminar deliberated on strategies to promote millet cultivation, value addition and marketing to build sustainable food systems in the UT.
