New Delhi, Feb 11 : National Conference MP Choudhary Ramzan on Wednesday said he attended a significant interaction on interfaith harmony and inclusive development, asserting that such engagements are vital for preserving Kashmir’s syncretic heritage and fostering national unity.
Ramzan, along with fellow MP Sajjad Kichloo, participated in the deliberations convened by Rakesh Sapru, Convener of the National Mission for Unity and Brotherhood.
The meeting extensively deliberated upon human rights, education, governance, cultural pluralism and socio-economic challenges, with particular focus on the shared spiritual traditions of Kashmir.
“We held detailed discussions on strengthening unity, mutual understanding and inclusive development,” Ramzan told News Agency Kashmir News Service (KNS).
Justice Iqbal Ansari, Chairperson of the Human Rights Commission for Haryana and Punjab, and Prof M M Ansari, former Interlocutor and noted economist, were also present. Prof Ansari extended a warm welcome to the MPs.
Terming the interaction “constructive”, Ramzan said such efforts assume greater significance in the current context and reaffirm the commitment to communal harmony and brotherhood across communities. (KNS)
