Srinagar, July 27, KP: Main opposition party National Conference Thursday hit to roads against the price hike, continuous curfew and restrictions in old Srinagar city and killing of innocent civilians here in Kashmir Valley.
Scores of NC workers participated in the protest march that was led by party General Secretary and legislator Ali Muhammad Sagar.
The march started from National Conference headquarters Nawa-i-Subh complex. Amid anti-government and anti-PDP slogans, the marchers tried to proceed towards Governor House, however, they were stopped by police near RM Bagh police station.
Several party leaders including Salman Sagar were detained by police.
Earlier talking to reporters, Ali Muhammad Sagar told reporters that the PDP-BJP government has miserably failed to live up to the expectations of people. He said that killing innocent youth in Kashmir Valley has become a routine while no measures are being taken to stop such killings. He said that common people have been suffering on account of the price hike while government has been doing nothing to allay the sufferings of the people. (KP)
