Srinagar, Aug 17: National Conference held a massive protest demonstration in Langate today against PDP BJP governments lackslidal and criminal approach in safeguarding JKs special status particularly on Art 35 A in the SC.

The protesters were being led by MLC and District President Kupwara Qaiser Jamsheed Lone and former MP Shariefudin Shariq.

Earlier while addressing party workers and delegates Qaiser lashed out at the incumbent Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for her inept handling of the state affairs. He said “After failing the people on every front, Mehbooba Ji has taken it upon herself to finish the states special status by making misleading statements on its protection and defense by the state government.”

While referring to Art 35 A Shariefudin Shariq said that the state was standing on a precipice and had it not been for National Conference and other opposition parties, the incumbent government would have silently overseen destruction of every law that guarantees J&K its special position in the constitution. “They have also done it in past despite crystal clear ramifications of implementing central tax laws in our state, PDP instead of safeguarding states interests worked over time to please their coalition partners BJP and the RSS,” he said.

In the convention a unanimous resolution was passed to put in all men and machinery of the party and fight for protection of states special status.
