On the opening day of Darbar (Civil Secretariat) in state’s winter capital Jammu, National Conference today staged a protest against governments failure in Mendhar sub division of Poonch district and questioned seriousness of ruling coalition partners to address public issues.
Protest was held on sub divisional headquarter and was headed by senior party leader and Member Legislative Assembly Mendhar, Javed Rana in presence of other senior leaders of party.
Protesting workers of National Conference raised slogans against state government terming it failure on all fronts.
NC workers said that general public is suffering in all spheres of life and government is hardly moved to the plight of masses.
“Functioning of almost all the government departments is on minimal level and problems being faced by people are increasing with each passing day ” they said.
Addressing in this protest, MLA Mendhar Javed Rana questioned appointment of interlocutor in last lag of government.s tenure.
“BJP led government at centre is in its last phase and after remaining adamant on not holding any discussion with stake holders, what’s the aim of sending an interlocutor now ” MLA said.
He said that since BJP goverment took over at centre, NC was demanding for starting dialogue process in state but adamant attitude of BJP leaders led to blood bath in Kashmir and now, merely for eye wash, government has sent an interlocutor in valley.
Rana also said that central government has badly failed in carrying forth the dialogue process with Pakistan which is leading to escalation of tensions on border and people living along LoC and IB are paying the price of it.
He also castigated state government for failure on all fronts.
“There is no vision of development with state government and developmental works are confined to constituencies represented by ministers” Rana added.
He further said that due to weak control of government on its departments, things are moving to bad state on ground and scarcity of funds is swelling.
“Deteriorating and dilapidated condition of road network in Rajouri and Poonch is a clear sign of poor state of affairs and government has no policy in hand to bring betterment ” he added.
