Seeks extension of Article 371 to J&K ” Newly launched party”.
Former Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Hussain Beigh termed the decesion of GOI to come up with new Domicile law has led to anixity depression in Kashmiris who are already battling the threat of deadly Covid19 like rest of World.
“I hope GOI will rethink over the issue,” he told. He also said, ” Right from beginning when I was under house arrest. I had stated my position clearly. My belief was and still is if Supreme Court holds the decesion of parliament related to abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35A of the constitution of the India as applicable to the state ,then the residents of the J&K have to be accomodated and their Domicile rights granted to them in 1927 by then Maharja Hari Singh should be protected under Article 371. “
“The reported decision of GOI has instead of addressing this issue in accordance with the wishes of the people of Jammu and Kashmir taken the decesion which has disheartened, demoralised the residents of Jammu and Kashmir. All that we want is that we should be treated at par with other hill states like the north east states, HP and given the rights of Domicile with respect to this position of land and recruitment of jobs in jammu and kashmir. There is nothing novel and unheard of sofar as this demand is concerned.”
Apaphretly hinting at J&K Apni party, ” Lately an impression has been given by the politicians of a new party that persual to their meeting with the Prime Minister and Home Minister. This demand as articulated by me would be accepted. I think I am afraid that either the statement was issued without understanding the true position of GOI or it was made to please the people of Jammu and Kashmir without any substantial justification. We still hope that status of Jammu and Kashmir will be restored as a full fledged state and Domicile rights of residents of Jammu and Kashmir shall be protected at par with other states mentioned under Article 371.”
