Official sources said the District Administration Ramban has ordered a temporary suspension of traffic on a section of the highway at Nachlana to allow bituminous relaying works.

The decision follows a request from the Project Director of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Project Implementation Unit (PIU) Ramban. The maintenance work is being undertaken in view of the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, with the aim of improving road conditions and ensuring smoother vehicular movement along the strategic route.

According to the order issued by the Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Ramban, the affected stretch will remain closed during night hours on June 12–13, June 14–15, and June 16–17, 2026. The restriction will be in force from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM on each of these nights.

The administration has directed the NHAI Project Director in Ramban to complete the works within the stipulated timeframe and ensure all necessary safety arrangements are in place, including proper signage and barricading at work sites.

The Senior Superintendent of Police, Ramban, along with the SSP Traffic NH-44, has been instructed to enforce the order strictly and manage traffic regulation effectively during the closure hours.
