Jammu, Sep 9 : The Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) has directed that no government or private school shall commence offline classes until a valid structural safety certificate is issued by the competent authority.

As per an official order issued by Dr. Naseem Javaid Chowdhary, Director School Education Jammu, and accessed by news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, all Heads of Institutions (HoIs) and School Management Committees have been instructed to conduct a comprehensive safety audit of their school buildings and submit detailed reports to the concerned authorities.

The order further states that HoIs and management committees must also evaluate the overall preparedness of their schools after obtaining safety certification. If any HoI or School Management Committee is satisfied that their building is structurally sound and does not require a safety audit, they shall furnish an undertaking certifying that the institution is fully safe for the conduct of offline classes. This undertaking must be submitted to the respective Chief Education Officers (CEOs) or Zonal Education Officers (ZEOs).

“In no case will offline classes be allowed to resume without the mandatory safety compliance,” the directive emphasizes, adding that strict enforcement will be ensured. (KNC)
