North Kashmir : Six days into militancy, Baramulla youth arrested

A youth from north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, who had joined militancy nearly a week ago, was held by the security forces during a raid last night, reports said.

According to news agency , Bashir Ahmad Beigh of Shirpora Kandi area of Kreeri was held by a joint team of the army and the police from Gantmullah area of Pattan.

“On his instance, raids were carried out in Kreeri late night which resulted in the recovery of one AK rifle with two magazines and 40 rounds,” an unnamed police officer was quoted as having said by GNS.

According to the officer, Beigh had joined militant ranks on April 2. “In this connection, a case has been registered and further investigation has been taken up,” the officer added. ( GNS )
