The Traffic Police Rural Kashmir on Sunday issued an advisory restricting the movement of certain vehicles on the Tangmarg–Gulmarg road stretch in view of slippery road conditions.
According to the advisory, tempo travellers, public service vehicles (PSVs) and vehicles with seating capacity of more than 10 passengers shall not be allowed to ply from Tangmarg towards Gulmarg. The vehicle operators have been advised to deboard passengers at the designated parking slot at Tangmarg.
It further stated that passengers will be permitted to proceed towards Gulmarg only in light motor vehicles fitted with proper anti-skid chains.
The advisory also clarified that no vehicle without proper anti-skid chains shall be allowed from Tangmarg towards Gulmarg till improvement in weather and road conditions on the stretch.
The advisory has been issued by the Senior Superintendent of Police, Traffic Rural Kashmir, Ravinder Pal Singh.
