Terming yesterday’s incident involving the escape of Lashker commander Naveed from SMHS hospital as a “security lapse”, Opposition on Wednesday sought a statement from the government.

On Tuesday as the proceedings of the Assembly began, opposition legislators of National Conference and Congress stood up, demanding a statement from government over the escape of the militant.

“This is a security lapse. This has never happened before. It should be thoroughly probed,” said NC legislator Ali Muhammad Sagar.

MLA Kulgam Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami also termed it as a “serious security lapse”.
