Panic As Fire Rages in B&J Hospital Srinagar

Srinagar, Mar 4 : Panic has gripped patients and attendants as fire continues to rage in Bone and Joint Hospital Barzulla in central Kashmir’s Srinagar district.

Reports reaching GNS said that the flames have spread in the three-storeyed building, plunging the whole hospital administration besides patients and attendants into panic.

So far three wards which include; Trauma, Recovery and Emergency are engulfed in blaze, eyewitness told

The fire started from the Emergency Theatre possibly due to short circuit, they said adding many of the patients are being evacuated to safer places with majority of them still stuck inside amid blasts of a few gas cylinders also being heard.

Many people from the adjacent areas could be seen visiting the hospital to know about the well-being of their kins.

Men and machinery from the Fire and Emergency Department assisted by police and locals are on job douse the raging flames.
