Srinagar, May 14: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecast partly cloudy weather with brief showers at isolated places across Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.

According to the MeT department, weather conditions are expected to remain partly to generally cloudy on May 15 and 16, with light rain, thundershowers and gusty winds likely at scattered to many places across the Union Territory.

The department said generally dry weather is expected on May 17 and 18. However, generally cloudy conditions with spells of light rain and thundershowers at scattered places are likely to return on May 19 and 20.

On May 21, the weather is expected to remain generally cloudy with brief rain spells at isolated places, while dry weather is likely from May 22 to 25.

Issuing an advisory, the MeT department warned of the possibility of thunder, lightning and gusty winds with speeds of 40-50 kmph at a few places in both Kashmir and Jammu divisions during May 15 and 16.

People have been advised to suspend boating and Shikara riding during afternoon and late afternoon hours due to the possibility of strong winds and thunderstorms.

The department urged residents to stay updated with official weather advisories and take necessary precautions during adverse weather conditions.
