Petrol pump, 15 shops sealed for violation of lockdown in Baramulla 255 Persons Held, 77 Vehicles Seized, 89 FIRs Registered So Far: DC

Baramulla, May 2: Authorities on Saturday sealed a petrol pump and 15 shops in violation of government’s prohibitory orders aimed to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus in Baramulla district of north Kashmir.
Reports reaching said that a team of officials led by Deputy Commissioner Dr G N Itoo sealed the petrol pump in main town Baramulla for providing fuel to customers without proper permission. During the market inspection, the deputy commissioner also sealed 15 shops for violating the prohibitory orders.
Confirming it, Deputy Commissioner told that prior to today’s drive “we have taken strong action for violation of lockdown as 25 shops were sealed earlier and 15 shops today.”
“So far 40 shops have been sealed in the drive,” he said, adding that 255 persons were arrested, 77 vehicles seized, and subsequently 89 FIRs have been registered in the northern district for violation of lockdown. (GNS)
