SRINAGAR 23 Oct: A balloon bearing the marking of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) was recovered near a resort in the Ghou Manhasan area of Jammu on Friday morning, prompting a police search of the surrounding area as a precautionary measure.

According to reports, locals spotted the balloon at RR Resort in Mahavir Basti, falling under the jurisdiction of Border Police Post (BPP) Sandwan, and informed the police.

A police team reached the spot and seized the balloon. The surrounding area was searched, while an investigation was initiated to examine the circumstances of its recovery.

Officials said balloons bearing PIA markings could drift across the International Border due to wind currents, but such incidents were being treated seriously in view of security concerns.
