Srinagar, July 1 : President Islamic Fraternity, Muhammad Aamir Saturday claimed that he is being harassed and targeted by some security agencies. He said that he was mentally tortured and detained for couple of hours by some security agency in Mumbai when he had gone there in connection with the work of the organization.
Addressing a press conference here in Srinagar city, Muhammad Aamir said that conspiracies are being hatched to push him and his associates to wall. “Let me make it clear that our organization focuses mainly on moral and ethical education. Imparting moral education and fight against corruption, drug addictions and other social evils is the main objective of Islamic Fraternity. Peace and brotherhood is the prime objective of our organization,” Aamir said and added that they have no political affiliation with anybody.
He said that the modus operandi of their organization is known to all. “We have a transparent system and there is nothing to hide. We are peace and law abiding citizens and don’t know why we are being intimidated on daily basis,” he said.
“We don’t know why we are being intimidated and threatened. From time to time we have brought this issue into the notice of police and security agencies.

Couple of month’s back i was interrogated in Mumbai by some agency in the dead of the night and complete profiling was done. Now the people who hosted me or met me are being interrogated as well,” he said.
Muhamamd Aamir said that efforts are being made to malign the image of their organization and the people affiliated to it. “We don’t hold any grudge towards any community or religion. We wish everyone good and always work for the betterment of the society. I hope those who intimidate us will understand our policy and stop maligning our reputation,” he said. (CNS)
