Srinagar 15 Jul : Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari on Monday claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah are willing to restore Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood, but alleged that the National Conference (NC) government does not know how to effectively pursue the issue.

Bukhari said the NC government should hold wider political consultations and adopt a constructive approach to seek the restoration of statehood. He maintained that agitation should be the last resort and urged the ruling party to exhaust all democratic and political avenues before opting for protests.

He emphasized the need for broader political consensus and said the issue should be taken up with the Centre in a well-planned and effective manner
