Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested 02 drug peddlers in Baramulla and recovered huge quantity of contraband substance from their possession.

Officers at a checkpoint established at Gantamulla Bala intercepted 02 persons identified as Khursheed Ahmad Khan son of Zulfiqar Khan and  Rouf Ahmad Khan son of Faqeer Ullah Khan both residents of Tathamulla Boniyar. During checking, officers were able to recover 9kgs of dried Cannabis leaves & 90grams of Charas from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.

Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Sheeri and investigation has been initiated.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
