Srinagar , 09-SEP;Police here on Thursday arrested 16 gamblers and seized stake money of Rs more than 1 crore from the gambling site.
A police party from police station Parimpora raided a gambling site following an input about the gambling activities in the nearby vicinity.
Sources told KP that 16 persons arrested by police belong to different districts of valley.
“These arrested gamblers belong to influential class and have time to time proven threat for the society”, one of the local said
One of the official said that they have seized playing cards and stake money of Rs more than 1 crore in form pf cash and gold from the gambling site.
Despite repeated attempts CNS, tried to get more information about the incident from SHO Parimpora Ayub Rather, he claimed to be injured and is currently under treatment in hospital.
