Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police has arrested 3 drug peddlers in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A Police spokesperson said that a police party of Police Station Baramulla headed by SHO PS Baramulla at a checkpoint established at Khanpora Baramulla, intercepted two persons. During search, 140 grams of contraband Charas like substances was recovered from their possession. They were later identified as Azad Ahmad Bhat son of Gh Hassan resident of Naidkhai & Aqib Ahmad Gojree son of Mohd Ayoub resident of Bagh e Islam Baramulla. They have been arrested and shifted to PS Baramulla were they remained in custody.”Similarly, Police party of Police Station Boniyar headed by SHO PS Boniyar at a checkpoint established at Bimyar Boniyar, intercepted one person who was riding motorcycle bearing registration number JK05C-3436. During search, 40 grams of contraband Charas like substances was recovered from his possession. He was later identified as Mudasir Rashid Wani son of Abdul Rashid resident of Gantamulla. He has been arrested and shifted to PS Boniyar were he remained in custody. The motorcycle was also seized on spot”, he said.Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at police Station Baramulla & Boniyar and investigations have been initiated.
