SRINAGAR 3 Jun : Police in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday attached a two-storey residential house belonging to a notorious drug peddler under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Officials said the attached property comprises a two-storey concrete house constructed over six marlas of land, with an estimated market value of around Rs 60 lakh.
The property belongs to Aasif Hussain Khan, also known as Soab Don, son of Abdul Gani Khan, a resident of Anchidora, Anantnag, identified by police as a notorious drug peddler.
Authorities stated that the attachment was carried out under Section 68F of the NDPS Act after completion of due legal procedures. The property has been assessed as having been acquired through proceeds of illicit drug trafficking and related narcotics activities.
Police said the action is part of their intensified efforts to dismantle the financial networks of drug traffickers and ensure that assets acquired through illegal narcotics trade are seized in accordance with the law.
They reiterated their commitment to making Anantnag drug-free and urged the public to continue sharing information on drug peddling and other criminal activities.
