National Police Day popularly known as Police Commemoration Day was observed today at Martyrs Memorial district police lines Reasi wherein the bravery of Martyrs was remembered for their sacrifice for the nation.
Rich tribute were paid to all the Martyrs of Police and Paramilitary force who made Supreme sacrifice in the line of duty for the unity and integrity of the nation in last one year.
Contingents of Police and Paramilitary forces participated in the Commemoration day Parade at DPL in which Sh Saraf Singh Nag DDC Chairman Reasi, S Charandeep Singh Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Sh Nisar Hussain CO 126 Bn CRPF, Sh Shiv Deep Singh CO IR 1st, Lt Col. Sh. Parvesh 14 Sec RR, Sh Sudesh Puri Chairman MC Reasi also paid tributes & offered wreaths to the Martyrs alongwith other prominent citizens.
Sh Shailender Singh Senior Superintendent of Police Presided over the Parade function and read the ‘Roll of Honour’ names of the Martyrs of Police and Paramilitary forces of the country.
Mr Singh in his speech remembered the Supreme sacrifices of 21 October 1959 in which ten Police Personals laid down their lives in an ambush by Chinese troops on Indo-China border in Ladakh and on November 28, 1959 their mortal remains were handed over to India and their Commemoration was held with full military honour at hot springs in Ladakh. The names of Martyrs of the year were read by the officer and rich tributes were paid to them who sacrificed their today for our tomorrow.
Sh Anil Katoch SSP Principal STC Talwara, CO CISF Sh J.P Ganishayam, Sh Amit Bhasin ASP Katra, Sh Surjeet Bhagat ASP Reasi, Dr Rajiv Sharma CMO Reasi, Dr Yousaf Khan Dy.CMO Reasi, Sh Muthuraman Bala Subramanian Director Narayana, Dr. Rajinder Medical Supdt. Reasi, Prof. Chandershekhar Principal Degree College Reasi, Dysp Hqtrs Reasi, SDPO Arnas, Officers of IB, CID and other district officers of Police and civil administration were also remained along with Prominent citizens of Reasi remained present on the occasion and paid rich tribute to the Martyrs.
Proud Family members of 29 Police Martyrs of district Reasi participated in the function to remember the sacrifice of their family members for the integrity of the Nation. They were seen in pride & tears for the Martyrs while laying wreaths over heap of flowers offered before ’Roll of Honour’ in the martyrs memorial.
After the formal Commemoration day Parade a token of love and affection in the form of gifts were handed over to the family members of Martyrs by SSP Reasi and other guests. SSP Reasi, ASP’s, DSP DAR-Nodal Officer for the martyrs in the district along with other police officers of the district interacted with each family of the Martyrs, listened to their greviences and issues, onspot directions were passed to redress the issues and also familarized them about the schemes, which have been launched by the Government for the welfare of NoK’s of Martyrs.
Mr Shailender assured that J&K Police is at the back of the NoK’s of the Martyrs, Reasi Police will leave no stone unturned to stand with them in each thick & thin of life.
