Jammu and Kashmir police along with the CRPF conducted surprise search operation and frisking at Saraibala and its adjoining areas in Srinagar on Thursday.

Officials told news agency that police and the CRPF conducted surprise search and frisking operation in Saraibala area of the city and its adjoining areas as part of the stepped up vigil in the Srinagar district in the wake of recent spate of killing of civilians and policemen.

“Pedestrians were frisked while shopkeepers were also asked to provide details about salesmen etc,” an official . CRPF personnel were also seen checking identity cards of pedestrians and frisking vehicles.

An official told that frisking operations have been intensified in Srinagar in the wake of recent killings of civilians and policemen. “People are requested to cooperate with the police,” he said.

Pertinently, additional CRPF companies have been deployed across Srinagar to assist police. ( KNO )
