Police foils Anti-land laws protest of Civil Society Forum

Few leaders including Qayoom Wani detained.

The Civil Society Forum under the leadership of Qayoom Wani tried to organize a protest against the implementation of new land laws but the programme was foiled by police as they detained few leaders including former PDP leader Qayoom Wani.

Before his detention while addressing to media persons Wani said, “the administration needs to listen that people are pressurized into submission by aggressive tactics”.

He added that they will allow not sell the land to non stake subjects, he also claimed that the new land laws are brazen attempt to destroy the collective culture of Kashmiries, Dogras of jammu and on Buddha’s of Ladakh.

He compared it as board on Lakhanpur titled as J&K on Sale, more ever he added that they had planned to organise the protest Pratap Park but that attempt was also foiled by police.

Before their detention they raised the slogans “Demographic change not acceptable”
