Police official earns silver medal in Judo at All-India Police Games

In a remarkable achievement, a police official Farhat Gulzar (Special Police Officer) posted in Kupwara has brought great honor to the Jammu and Kashmir Police by earning a silver medal in judo at All-India Police Games. The event, which was held in Guwahati and hosted by Assam Police, took place from June 24 to June 30, 2024.

Farhat Gulzar’s outstanding performance at the All-India Police Games is a testament to his dedication and hard work. As a result of his success at the national level, he has been selected to participate in the World Police and Fire Games, scheduled to be held in California, USA, in February 2025. In recognition of his outstanding achievement, Farhat Gulzar was felicitated by Shobhit Saksena-IPS, SSP Kupwara at a ceremony at District Police Office, Kupwara.

Moreover, SSP Pulwama Smt. P D Nitya-IPS congratulated and presented an appreciation certificate & cash rewarded an athlete Aamir Hamid Wani from Dadoora, Pulwama during a special ceremony. SSP Pulwama lauded Aamir’s perseverance and hard work, noting that his achievement serves as an inspiration to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.

Aamir Hamid Wani has made history by becoming the first player from Jammu and Kashmir to be selected for the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL). Aamir, who has been passionate about kabaddi since his childhood, secured a position in the league with a base price of Rs 9 lakh, marking a significant milestone in his sports career.“`
