Police organize meet with traders at City centre Lal chowk

In extension of continuous efforts to reach out to public, SSP, Srinagar, Sandeep Choudhary (IPS) accompanied by SP East, Tanushree(IPS) SDPO Kothibagh, SHO Kothibagh and SHO Maisuma held a coordination meeting with presidents of market federations of Lal Chowk, Koker bazaar, maisuma, Residency Road, polo view, Red Cross road and Karalkhud market.

About 60 members of market associations attended the meeting including Farhaan Kitaab, Bilal Ahmed Dar, Mehraj Din, Bashir Kangposh.

The agenda of the meeting was to know the problems faced by market associations and arrive at amicable solutions with the help of police. Key issues discussed in the meeting were: security, parking, traffic, cleanliness.

SSP Srinagar took note of all the concerns and gave them assurance to resolve the matters as soon as possible. He assured them full cooperation of the police department. He highlighted the importance of Lal chowk area, as it is the business hub of Srinagar and see footfall of more than lakh of people a day. He also highlighted the importance of cooperation from the community members to work with police to devise solutions to problems of crime and disorder.
