Police in Baramulla have recovered an abducted girl within hours and arrested the accused person involved in the commission of crime.
A Police spokesperson said, “On 21/07/2023, Police Post Palhallan received a written complaint from a one person that his daughter (name withheld) aged about 16 years has been kidnapped by Gowhar Abbas son of Mohd Abbas Wani Resident of Kralwari Chadoora. Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Pattan and investigation was set into motion.”
“Acting swiftly, a police team of Police Post Palhallan swung into action and recovered the abducted girl within 6 hours from Gamandar Chadoora Budgam and arrested the accused kidnapper on the spot. The accused person has been shifted to Police Station where he remains in custody. “
After completion of all medico-legal norms, the girl was handed over to her legal heirs. Further investigation into the matter is going on.
