A tourist from Germany was rescued from a remote area in southern Ladakh after he fell sick during a trekking expedition and made a distress call, police said on Sunday.According to a statement issued by Ladakh Police, “On 19/9/2023, upon receiving information about Mr. Cristo, a German national, who had embarked on a trek from Korzok and was stranded at Nurbo Sumdo, approximately 75 Kms from Korzok, near the border of Himachal Pradesh.””Without hesitation, a police team from Police Station Nyoma embarked on a rescue mission. Their efforts culminated in a successful rescue operation, bringing Mr. Cristo to safety last night”, it reads.Mr. Cristo is currently under the care of PHC Nyoma, where he is receiving the necessary medical attention.
