Police in Baramulla district on Tuesday rescued a Bangladeshi couple after distress call from jungle.

“Around 2115 hours, police received one SOS call from one Shepherd from Affarwat that one non Local Couple has lost the way and got stuck in the Jungle,” a police officer told .

“A rescue operation was launched immediately by police station Gulmarg, the lost couple was traced around Marry Shoulder in very frightened condition.”

He said the couple Bangladesh was brought down till Kungdori (Gondola Phase 1). “Request was made to Gondola authorities who extended their cooperation and accepted the request to operate cable car this time as a special case,” the officer said, adding, “Tourists were provided food and accommodation.

They expressed gratitude to police and cable car people for rescuing them well in time.” (GNS)
