SRINAGAR | July 14, 2025: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah met with a series of delegations at the Public Outreach Office, Raabita, in Srinagar today, engaging in wide-ranging discussions focused on development, education, healthcare, public welfare, and tourism promotion in Jammu & Kashmir.
Among the prominent visitors was Dr. Mohd. Jaffar Akhoon from Kargil, who brought to the Chief Minister’s attention the pressing challenges faced by Ladakhi students and patients, particularly in access to educational and medical infrastructure.
The Vice Chancellor of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), Prof. Jawaid Iqbal, also met the Chief Minister, seeking enhanced government support to strengthen the higher education ecosystem in the region.
In a notable corporate engagement, the Zonal Head of ICICI Bank discussed ongoing and future initiatives under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), emphasizing partnership opportunities with the government in social upliftment projects.
Brigadier Deepak Sajjan Har presented a memento to the Chief Minister on behalf of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), commemorating the NCC’s successful Everest Expedition–2025, symbolizing youth empowerment and resilience.
Tourism stakeholders from the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) and SKAL International proposed the hosting of a Kashmir-centric global tourism convention, aimed at revitalizing the region’s travel and hospitality sector and projecting Kashmir as a world-class tourist destination.
