Srinagar, Mar 24 2020

Former EJAC president and Civil society activist Qayoom Wani urged the authorities to establish quarantine facilities within the jurisdiction of every sub district hospital in J&K equipped with necessary facilities including masks, medical teams, ambulance, good communication & sanitization facilities besides proper hygienic boarding lodging facilities.

Wani said that establishing the quarantine centers near SDHs would not only put off

pressure from the district administrations but also would make the exercise more effective and purposeful.

Wani said that Kashmiri students stranded at Banipole junction at India-Bangladesh border and students and others stuck in other states should immediately be flown back to valley. He urged government to take immediate steps for their return so that they do not feel panic and isolated.

He also demanded a buffer stock of medical essentials like masks, sanitizers and other relevant items so that fight against COVID-19 is not affected.
