The Ministry of Railways has accepted the recommendation of Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti to open up a halt station at Naina Batpora in Pulwama district on the Baramulla-Banihal rail line, an official spokesman said today.

“With this all six halt points on the Baramulla-Banihal Rail line, as recommended by the Chief Minister for the convenience of general public of the respective areas, have been ordered to be established,” he said.

Mehbooba Mufti, according to the spokesman, had requested opening of halt stations at Sangadan, Furrah-Monghal, Ratnipora, Nadigam, Razwan and Naina Batpora on the Baramulla-Banihal rail line for the convenience of a large chunk of population.

“I am delighted to inform you that all the above-mentioned halt stations have been approved on passenger amenity ground,” Minister for Railways & Coal, Piyush Goyal said in a communication to the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti.
