Srinagar, May 11: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecast generally cloudy weather with spells of rain and thundershowers across Jammu and Kashmir on May 11 and 12, while issuing an advisory for hailstorms, lightning and gusty winds in several areas.

According to the MeT department, most places across Kashmir and Jammu divisions are likely to witness light to moderate rain and thundershowers during the two days, particularly during late afternoon and evening/night hours. Isolated areas may also experience hailstorms, thunder and gusty winds with speeds reaching 50–60 kmph.

In its advisory, the MeT department has urged people to suspend boating and Shikara rides, especially during afternoon and late afternoon hours, in view of possible strong winds and thunderstorms.

Farmers have also been advised to suspend farm operations from May 11 to 13 due to the expected weather conditions.
