In its weather forecast, the MeT Centre said the weather is likely to remain generally dry on October 16, with brief spells of light rain at isolated to scattered places.

Dry weather is expected to prevail across Jammu and Kashmir from October 17 to 24.

For October 25 to 27, the MeT Centre has forecast generally cloudy conditions, with light rain at scattered places and light snowfall over higher reaches. Thunderstorms and gusty winds are likely at a few places during this period.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Centre Sriny has advised farmers to ensure the safe storage of harvested apples, paddy and other crops on October 15 in view of the possibility of adverse weather conditions.

Travellers, transporters and the general public have been advised to plan their journeys accordingly and follow traffic advisories, particularly as light snowfall may affect important mountain passes, roads and highways.

Farmers have also been advised to resume harvesting and other agricultural activities from Friday, October 16, as weather conditions are expected to improve.
