Srinagar, May 20: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecast partly to generally cloudy weather across Jammu and Kashmir during May 20 and 21, with spells of light rain, thundershowers, gusty winds and hailstorms expected at scattered to many places, mainly during afternoon and evening hours.

According to the forecast, generally dry weather is likely from May 22 to 25 during the forenoon, while brief showers may occur at isolated to scattered places towards afternoon and late afternoon hours.

The weather department said hot and dry conditions are expected from May 26 to 28, while partly to generally cloudy weather with light rain or thundershower at isolated places is likely from May 29 to 31, mainly during afternoon and late afternoon hours.

In its advisory, the MET Centre warned of the possibility of thunder, lightning, hailstorms and gusty winds with speeds of 40-50 kmph, gusting above 60 kmph at a few places in both Kashmir and Jammu divisions during May 20 and 21.

The department has also predicted heat wave conditions at a few places of Jammu division on May 20.
