BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav’s unscheduled visit has sparked rumours of reshuffle in the Council of Ministers from the BJP quota and some changes in the party.
Although Ram Madhav reached Jammu on Wednesday evening, he kept his visit secret till this afternoon. Except some senior party functionaries, most BJP leaders were unaware of his visit.
Sources said after meeting senior BJP leaders, Madhav met RSS prant parcharak Ramesh Pappa to get a feedback about functioning of the government as well as the organisation.
“Meeting with Pappa is significant in the sense that the BJP high command has taken a serious note of prevailing ‘anarchy’ in the party,” a source said, adding that the performance of BJP legislators in the ongoing Budget session was also a matter of concern for the leadership.
Another significant development during Madhav’s visit to Jammu was his hour-long closed-door meeting with Sajjad Lone, who is Cabinet minister from the quota of the BJP.
The sources said the BJP high command was seriously mulling over the idea of inducting some “honest persons” in the ministry besides reviving the organisation.
“Instead of informing party leaders about his visit to Jammu, Madhav told local leadership after landing here on Wednesday,” the sources said, adding, “Madhav individually called all leaders for meetings.”
The sources said Madhav also met Deputy CM Nirmal Singh, BJP state general secretary (organisation) Ashok Koul and state party president Sat Sharma on Wednesday evening
