Srinagar, Aug 15 : Hurriyat (M) chief Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Tuesday welcomed the statement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in which he said that love, not bullets will resolve Kashmir issue.
“Welcome @narendramodi also believes “Goli & gaali will not help resolve Kashmir” if insaniyat & insaaf replace them resolution can become a reality,” tweeted Mirwaiz.
Modi had, in his Independence Day speech, on Tuesday said that “only love and not bullets or abuse can help resolve the dragging problem in Jammu and Kashmir”.
“We are committed for the development of Jammu and Kashmir and this is also the resolve of every Indian,” the Prime Minister said in his speech from the Red Fort in Delhi.
Modi said the separatist campaign in the state cannot be resolved by “gaali se” (abuse) or “goli se” (bullet) but by embracing every Kashmiri.
